Letter for Channel Partner
Sub: Unsolicited Commercial Communications
Dear Sir/Madam,
As you are aware TRAI has issued Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulations to curb the menace of unsolicited commercial communication (UCC). These rules and regulations were widely publicized and various education initiatives have been rolled out by TRAI. IRDA has also issued set of guidelines on tele-marketing and expects all insurers and intermediaries to follow relevant regulations in place. At SBI General we stand fully committed to the regulations of TRAI and IRDA.
In this connection, we wish to inform you that we have been receiving complaints against Unsolicited Commercial Calls made ostensibly on behalf of SBI General, in violation of the Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulations. We trust that such calls are not being made by you or anybody on your behalf as we have never authorised any of our Agents or Intermediaries to make unsolicited commercial communications on behalf of the Company. We encourage you to visit TRAI website www.trai.gov.in to acquaint yourself with the compliance requirements in this regard.
As you may be aware, the guidelines of TRAI expect insurers to initiate actions against errant parties who engage in to telemarketing in violation of the guidelines issues. Provisions range from penalties, disengagement and filing of FIRs. It is in this context that we request care from your side. We would like to avoid such unpleasant situations.
We request your cooperation and support in the matter.
Thanking you,
